Life
Groups
A Life Group is a small gathering of people who meet together in homes
to learn about Christian living and to build relationships with one another.
In the book of Acts, Luke records the tremendous growth of the early church in Jerusalem. Small group meetings in homes were the foundation of the early church. Acts 5:42 tells us that the people met "in the temple courts" (large group worship) and "from house to house" (small group
fellowships).
Led by a mature and trained member, each group
consists of people who meet weekly in homes. Relevant biblical teachings are shared in each small group meeting in simple and practical way.
The Life Groups also serve an evangelistic mission since new people are being invited
and won to Christ. The Life Group enables a
person to grow in her or his relationship with God through the knowledge of
his Word, and in relationship with others in an intimate setting.
Many have shared how these Life
Groups have blessed their lives. Each week Life Groups meet here in
the city of New York, reaching out and offering hope to a hurting
world. Life Groups meet
on a weekly basis; a weekly Bible study lesson is shared with real
life applications, applying the Bible into our lives. People walk away from the meetings feeling refreshed
and renewed.
In addition to these Bible studies,
the life groups also hosts events such as movie night, weekend
retreat getaways, billiard outings, and even recreational and
intramural sports.
